GERMIE BERNARD
Scout's Take
Germie Bernard is a versatile wideout with ascending production who has emerged as a reliable catalyst in the Alabama offense. At 6'1" and 204 pounds, Bernard possesses clean footwork and well-disguised breaks that allow him to line up effectively both outside and in the slot. He is a smooth strider who excels at drop-and-snap route transitions, particularly on curls and comebacks. Bernard's vision in the open field and cut quickness make him a dangerous weapon after the catch. While he accelerates quickly to his top speed, he lacks the elite "vertical burner" gear to consistently threaten defenses deep. He can also struggle with physicality against aggressive press coverage. In fantasy leagues, Bernard is a high-utility asset who can be weaponized in various roles, including out of the backfield. His intelligence and strategic play allow him to navigate zone defenses efficiently, providing a safe target for his QB. He projects as an above-average WR2 or WR3 at the next level. His comparison to Jermaine Burton is based on his ability to win at all three levels of the field through technical proficiency rather than overwhelming size.
