MALACHI FIELDS
Scout's Take
Malachi Fields is a physically dominant boundary "X" receiver who uses his 6'4", 222-pound frame to bully defensive backs. At Notre Dame, Fields thrived in contested catch situations, using his massive catch radius and elite body control to tilt 50/50 balls in his direction. He is a "circus catch" specialist who can leap, adjust, and extend to make plays in high-traffic areas. In fantasy leagues, Fields is a high-value chain-mover who excels on tight-window throws outside the numbers. While he is highly productive in the air, he is a slow starter versus press coverage and lacks the suddenness to shake clingy defenders with route running alone. His speed is more "build-up" than "run-by," making him best suited for an offense that schemes him open looks. Like Drake London, his value is found in his ability to dominate the work space and win at the catch point. His versatility to line up in multiple alignments and his dominance as a run blocker add to his pro-ready profile.
