J'MARI TAYLOR
Scout's Take
J'Mari Taylor is a "street savvy" well-rounded back who successfully transitioned from the FCS to the ACC. Standing 5'9" and 205 pounds, Taylor outperformed his North Carolina Central stats after transferring to Virginia, posting a 1,300-yard scrimmage season. He is a "FedEx truck" finisher who lowers his pad level to run through arm tackles, ranking among the Power-4 leaders with over 750 yards after contact. Taylor is also an elite pass catcher out of the backfield, trailing only one other Power-4 back in targets. From a fantasy perspective, his versatility and ability to help a quarterback by finding "open green grass" in broken plays makes him a high-floor asset. However, scouts are concerned by his lack of short-area "blink" and top-end speed, often making him catchable in the open field. His smaller stature leads to questions about his ability to handle a lead NFL workload, projecting him as a Round 5 scheme-specific contributor.
