TED HURST
Scout's Take
Ted Hurst is an intriguing "big-body" prospect who successfully made the jump from Division II to become a dominant Group of Five producer. Standing 6'3" and 207 pounds, Hurst finished his career at Georgia State with a 1,000-yard season, showing the "straight-line speed" to be a legitimate vertical threat. He is a deceptive, hesitation-based route runner who "glides downfield" and pick up ground easily with long strides. Hurst is a "comfortable" receiver in traffic, using his large frame to shield defenders and reeling in passes with soft hands. From a fantasy perspective, his impressive catch radius and breakaway "chunk play" ability make him a high-upside developmental target. However, he still has technical hurdles to clear; he tends to round his cuts and lacks elite suddenness on lateral breaks. His draft stock will likely be determined by his performance at the Senior Bowl, where he must prove he can separate against Power-5 cornerbacks in one-on-one situations.
