MAKAI LEMON
Scout's Take
Makai Lemon is the 'toughness' anchor of the USC receiving corps and a quintessential Amon-Ra St. Brown archetype. Despite being 5'11", Lemon plays a violent brand of football. He is arguably the best Yards After Catch (YAC) receiver in the 2026 class, often looking more like a running back once the ball is in his hands. He initiates contact with defenders, using a powerful lower half to break arm tackles. This physicality makes him a favorite for coaches who value receivers contributing as elite perimeter blockers. From a fantasy perspective, Lemon is a PPR dream. He thrives in the slot, finding the soft spots in zone coverage and serving as a high-volume safety valve. His agility in short spaces is elite, allowing him to create separation on whip routes and options. While he may lack the elite vertical speed to be a consistent deep threat, his versatility to line up in the backfield or as a 'gadget' player adds layers to his fantasy value. The main knock on Lemon is his catch radius; he isn't going to win many jump balls against 6'2" corners, so he relies heavily on his route precision to stay clean. He is a high-IQ player who understands leverage and defensive rotations, making him a 'surgical' addition to any NFL roster.
