CARSON BECK
Scout's Take
Carson Beck is a "battle-tested" pocket passer who successfully transitioned from Georgia to Miami, leading the Hurricanes to a CFP semifinal appearance. Standing 6'4" and 220 pounds, Beck is an experienced starter with ideal arm strength to attack every level of the field. He is at his best in up-tempo, no-huddle systems where he can establish a rhythm and distribute the ball quickly. In fantasy terms, he is a "safe floor" backup who limits mistakes but lacks the rushing upside to be a premier starter. While his sturdiness allows him to withstand hits, his biggest limitations are a lack of dynamic athleticism and a tendency to force balls into traffic. He has been described as a "schedule-keeping" quarterback who won't lose you games, but also won't consistently win them with his legs. Like Geno Smith, his ceiling is a reliable low-end starter or high-quality backup who can thrive in the right schematic fit.
